Im 16 and I’ve been diagnosed with ptsd and depression,anxiety,depression and asthma runs in my family,this all started after a month ago when I turned 16 I smoked weed,had a drug induced panic attack found out the weed was laced,and I’ve had a lot of trauma since then and im also a survivor of child abuse,my doctor prescibed me elavil but I only took it once and I did not like the way it made me feel lately I’ve felt emtpy,hard to breathe,anxious nervous,when I smile and laugh it does not feel right,I’ve had insomnia for a month im always lightheaded like my head and eyes always feel heavy im always having panic attacks and thinking im dying from heart attacks it always feels like im dying and going crazy,I’ve had a lot of chest pressure,the only things that make me feel better is when im up moving around but going to wal-mart and places like that its just over whelming I have no patience and I always feel like im going crazy or something is about too happen too me its weird I’m perfectly healthy,its really when I sit sown when I start feeling down but after me being up and doing stuff I wanna sit down but when I sit or lay down it just doesn’t feel right I was diagnosed with a minor case of a.d.h.d when I was little,its like I always feel loose,empty,not myself,detached,and like im about too faint I have my good days and I have my days like this where nothing feels right and feel like im dying its so uncomfortable my mom is getting me into therapy and I do execise,sex helps but im too young and then i m not able to breathe and feel a panic attack coming on so does anybody suggest what I should do? I pray,meditate,exercise,I have a stress ball that I squeeze,candles,drink tea everyday,write in a journal and everthing and I’ve went back to homeschool because all of this I just wanna be happy and back to my old self again.
As someone with a quote on quote mental illnes i uderstand your issues. The best thing to do is get on a good medicine and stay on it. Please consider counselling. too. Your friends may lend a ear, but honestly they will never truly understand your plight. Also look up a local chapter of the DPBA and the NAMI…national alliance of the mentally ill…and depression bipolar support agency. the nami gives out scholoarships for people with a mental illness.

It’s not a drug that will alter your mindset right away..it’s one that that I am currently taking and it has helped me greatly. It focuses on OCD, Anxiety, Social Anxiety, PTSD, and I believe it helps a small amount with Depression. I’m seventeen and have found this to help me out immensely, so good luck to you!

Relaxing, of course is the most important step. This might be very hard but the only solution I do is to pretend like it all never happened. Almost all the things you mentioned happens in your brain. If your mind started it, it can certainly end it too. Literally, throw away everything that happened, it never happened, those things never existed, I was never diagnosed with that stuff, tell yourself those things are ridiculous and start fresh. Start new, how you wanted your old self to be. Hang out with your family and friends, go out.. have fun, if something like that happens again, Ignore it completely. . . You have a life to live and don’t let all that crap get in your way! God Bless!

Well sad to see ur story..Well 1st of all u have to change ur all environment and u better think whats ur portential is and try to utilize ur energies there…Secondly you make your time for all work e.g wakeup on time, breakfast and etc…Well try to make ur life better yourself no one come in your life to help you..Well if u are so much depressed concerced some better docters…Keep smiling

Write down all your symptoms and then go to the doctor. It sounds to me like there’s a physical problem as well as the emotional problems.
Your doing the right things, exercise, therapy, meditation, journal writing. These are good things to do, keep it up.
You went past that child abuse thing rather quickly. I know, it’s difficult to talk about. But it’s the root of the problem. Since you didn’t give details, I won’t either. What I will say is that you need a counselor who is familiar with this problem. Many counselors don’t understand. Group therapy is also a good idea. Talking to people who’ve been through the same thing helps a lot. There are also web groups that can help.
